Q1. What is MLDC Alumni Association all about?
DahanukarCollege, as MLDC is known popularly, has been a great force in moulding our lives. College has contributed greatly to our success as professionals and good human beings, that we are today. All ex-students love to be in touch with their old mates and also with the College itself. But thanks to our hectic life, we seldom are able to do so.
MLDC Alumni is your own association which provides you a platform to be in touch with the college.
Q2. Who formed the Alumni Association and when?
The Association was formed in 2002. It was inaugurated on 19th October 2002, by the then Principal of the College, Prof. Praful Oak. Oak Sir remains the main source of inspiration for the Association.
Q3. What is the legal structure of the Alumni Association and how does it function?
The Alumni Association is a registered Public Trust and is also registered under the Society’s Registration Act.

The Managing Committee meets at least 4 times every year and takes all administrative decisions. The meetings of the Committee are chaired by the elected Chairman.

The principal object of the Association is to promote fraternity not only among the ex-students of the College inter se but also among the present students of the College on one hand and the Alumni of the college on the other hand.
The Association also facilitates the Alumni of the College to actively participate in various programs designed and or intended to assist the present students of the College to help them achieve excellence in diverse fields including academics, sports, cultural activities etc.

Principally, all these activities are funded through the membership fees and sponsorships. Association is authorized to organize fund raising campaigns including contributory dinners, entertainment programs etc to raise resources.

Q8. What are the different types of memberships that the Association provides?
The Association provides you an opportunity to be a member in any of the following categories:
The Managing Committee may by Resolution confer the rank of Honorary Fellow on members and others who have rendered distinguished services to the Association or have contributed substantially to the achievement of its objectives.
Any Government / Semi Government / Educational/ Public Sector / Private Sector organization / Institution who have donated an aggregate sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lacs Only) or more shall be eligible for the Institutional Membership and will be entitled to nominate one representative.
The Managing Committee may from time to time elect persons of eminence who have donated to the Association as aggregate sum of Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lac Only) or more to be the Patrons of the Association.
The Managing Committee may by resolution confer the rank of Fellow Member on members and others who have donated to the Association an aggregate sum of Rs, 11,000 (Rupees Eleven Thousand Only) or more.
Any applicant for the category of Life Member should be an ex student of the College, should have attained the age of eighteen years on the date of his application and donated to the Association an aggregate sum of Rs. 1,000 (Rupees One Thousand Only).
Every student of the College shall be entitled to become a Student Member of the Association by paying a sum of Rs. 100 (Rupees One Hundred Only) as one time fee. Such membership will be valid only so long as the student member continues to be the student of the College.
In addition, secretaries of all associations recognized by the College and functioning in the College will be ex-officio student members.
